A 12mm golden South Sea pearl under a cap of 18K rose gold, fluted and scalloped like a tulip turned over the top of it, with small stones set where it meets the hook.
The color is the pearl's own. Golden South Sea pearls grow in the gold-lipped oyster and nothing is added to them. They are the rarest of the South Sea colors.
The rose gold is the reason to look twice. Against yellow gold a golden pearl reads as a single tone. Against rose, the warmth in the pearl separates out and the metal goes pink behind it. On a French hook, 8 grams for the pair, sitting just below the lobe.
Jewelry goes on last and comes off first: put pieces on after perfume and lotion, and take them off before swimming, showering, workouts, and sleep. Natural stones are tough but can chip on impact; wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and skip harsh cleaners. Pearls are the most delicate: keep them away from cosmetics. Solid gold refreshes with mild soap and water; keep gold-plated and gold-filled pieces dry to protect the finish. Store each piece separately in a soft pouch.
